The 2022 World Cup starts this weekend on Sunday (20/11/2022) and runs until 18 December.
The Argentine national team has also released an official statement that they have dropped two players, namely Nicolas Gonzalez and Jaoquin Correa.
Nicolas Gonzalez is known to have suffered a muscle injury in the last training of the Argentine national team.
Meanwhile, Joaquin Correa was dropped because he had not recovered 100 percent from a left knee injury.
Joaquin Correa had played and scored a goal when the Argentina national team against the United Arab Emirates in a friendly match.
After that, Joaquin Correa still feels pain because of the injury he suffered since last October during Inter Milan’s match against Barcelona in the Champions League.
Instead, the Argentine national team called Angel Correa and Thiago Almada.
They were both chosen because of the team’s needs ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Angel Correa can play as a winger and striker, while Thiago Almada plays as a midfielder.
Ahead of the World Cup, Lionel Scaloni was confused with injured players and inevitably had to drop him from the squad.
“There are some who leave because they are not fit to play or there are risks,” said the skipper as quoted by BolaSport.com from TyC Sports.
“I can’t guarantee these players are okay.”
“In principle it is, but we have to be careful,” said Scaloni again.
The Argentine national team will have their first match at the 2022 World Cup against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday (22/11/2022)
